![]() I finished yesterday the basic campaign from AoW: Planetfall. So I advice to change graphical tone of the game to make it look more vibrant and colourful, as well as make battlefields more interesting by putting more interesting terrain, objects and effects in there, not just grey rocks. I generally don't like that Age of Wonders 4 has a big graphical step into looking more realistic and because of that bleak and grey instead of magical looks this game had with Age of wonders 3 and especially Age of Wonders 2. You can notice that battlegrounds in Age of Wonders 3 looks very colourful, vibrant, interesting and magical and the one you have shown in Age of Wonders 4 looks bleak, grey, non-magical and too realistic and generally boring. Compare it to many battlegrounds in Age of Wonders 3, like the one on the second screenshot. Look at this screenshot from Age of Wonders 4 Premier. Or if you don't like it at least give players ability to increase unit stack cap with mod editor! Players can't do that with Age of Wonders 3 editor and it is a really needed feature to make combat good and make non-main-combat units good in this game, such as support units!Ģ)Second issue I found is that some battlegrounds look too bleak, grey and uninteresting with maybe global map having similar issues as well. So because of how bad support-like units are due to 6 unit stack limit I really advice you to either increase max unit stacks from 6 units up to 8 at the very least. So of course because of this players will only put the most combat-efficient-versatile-brawler units into those slots and not put any support-like units into those slots! So this means most of the time players only have 5 or 4 slots to put their units into. ![]() Which means 1 slot in a stack is already going to be occupied by a leader and second slot would be occupied by a hero most of the time, with other 4 stacks having their first slot occupied by heroes. It needs another unit to support and you can't afford to bring in supports when there are so few slots in the army! So if I have a choice between bringing in 6 normal combat units or 3 normal combat units with 3 supports, bringing 6 normal combat units is much better almost all the time! Additionally, most of the fighting in this game happens with heroes and leader stacks. Basically, 1 support is useless on its own. Having only 6 slots makes all support units much much more worthless, because their role is supporting other units, but you can't properly bring any supports when you already have so few slots to put your units in there. It is a big part of a reason why support units are very underused in age of wonders. ![]() Hi, Triumph Studios! There are some issues I found with Age of Wonders 4 which I want to note for you:ġ)Having only 6 units in a stack is way too little.
